In her first in-depth television interview with Harris Faulkner since her husband was assassinated three months ago, Mrs. Erika Kirk, now the CEO of Turning Point USA, showed herself as a widow determined to carry on Kirk’s legacy. At the same time, she is facing what she calls a harmful “mind virus” of conspiracy theories and speculation.

“Can I have one thing? Can my children have one thing?” Ms. Kirk asked, her voice tightening. Her plea seemed to show that it had been hard to find any private space to grieve her husband in silence. She also shared plans for a public, “spectacular” memorial at Turning Point USA, but made it clear the gravesite would remain private. “Can I have one thing… where I don’t have to be worried about some secular revolutionary coming and destroying my husband’s grave?”

Her main frustration was with media figures and YouTube influencers, who she said were making money from tragedy by targeting her husband’s colleagues and friends. As she spoke to them, her tone changed from pleading to confrontational.
“Come after me, call me names. I don’t care,” Mrs. Kirk said. “But when you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family, my Charlie Kirk Show family… and you are making hundreds of thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love, because somehow they’re in on this… No.” “This is righteous anger,” she said, describing the emotion that broke through her usually calm manner. “Because this is not OK. It’s not healthy.”

While Mrs. Kirk did not name specific individuals, the reference was a clear allusion to Candace Owens, who has used her platform to investigate the murder of her best friend, Charlie Kirk, and has shared alternative theories about the assassination. However, for Mrs. Kirk, making money from attacking grieving people crossed a moral line. Or is it?

To that, Ms. Owens took offence to Mrs. Kirk that, because according to her, Turning Point USA has made “40 million like two nights ago at Mara Lago,” and “separately from Mara Lago, Turning Point USA, since Charlie was killed, just so you guys know this is a fact, has made more than $100 million.”
In one of Ms. Owens’ videos, she said there are only two people who stop her investigation into Mr. Kirk’s murder, her husband and Erika Kirk.

Mrs. Kirk’s last words: “If you want to find and pick me a part… I do not care. I don’t, this was happening before Charlie was murdered. Both of us have been through the Ringer of people who will call you whatever they want to call you. They will, but I have seen it firsthand impact the people that I love, and I’m done. I’m done, and if people think that I was just going to will to way, I’m not going to sit in a corner and cry and be in a fetal position.”
This is a duty to my husband, and it’s an absolute honor, and I will never back down, and so my message to them. Is to stop. Stop! Stop in the name of God.”

Will Candace Owens stop her investigation into the murder of her best friend after the widow asked her to, or will she continue until every stone is turned and every lead is followed meticulously as she has been doing from the very beginning? Will her followers see this as an inconsistency in her approach and standard?

Now, the internet has some questions for Mrs. Kirk: What harm did Candace Owens do to the Turning Point USA members?  Why did you show mercy and forgiveness to the actual killer and not to those who are investigating the murder? When did you get the time to write a book three months after your husband was murdered as a grieving widow and a full-time mother?
